Project description:
The wi.grow Digital Twin project concerns the development of an integrated digital platform for the primary sector, aiming to support agricultural and livestock production through advanced data collection, analysis and decision-support technologies.
The platform leverages Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, field sensors, edge/cloud infrastructures, data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning models to collect and process real-time data from multiple sources. Through the integration of heterogeneous data streams, the platform creates a dynamic digital twin that reflects the status of production systems and supports monitoring, prediction and optimisation of critical processes.
The wi.grow Digital Twin aims to assist farmers, agricultural holdings and livestock units in making data-driven decisions related to natural resource management, irrigation and fertilisation optimisation, environmental monitoring, animal welfare and overall production efficiency.
At the same time, the platform incorporates tools for water and environmental footprint analysis, contributing to the reduction of resource waste, improved water management and the promotion of sustainable development. Through dashboards, alerts and decision-support functionalities, the project aims to transform data into practical and actionable information for end users.
