WINGS ICT Solutions announces the launch of 5G-BRIDGE (24-EL-DIG-5G-BRIDGE), a flagship CEF Digital initiative coordinated by WINGS, designed to accelerate the deployment of market-ready, 5G-enabled digital services in remote and underserved rural and island regions across Greece.
5G-BRIDGE acts as a real-world deployment and validation environment for WINGS’ vertical application portfolio, demonstrating how advanced 5G Standalone (SA) connectivity, combined with edge computing, IoT and AI, can be transformed into operational services with clear value for public authorities, municipalities, utilities and communities.
Within the project, WINGS will deploy and scale the following application solutions:
wi.sense water – monitoring of rivers, watercourses and urban irrigation infrastructures, supporting water management, early warning and resilience.
wi.breathe – environmental monitoring and wildfire detection, enabling early alerts and situational awareness for civil protection and local authorities.
wi. care+ – digital health and assisted care services, supporting remote monitoring and healthcare access in underserved areas.
wi. live (school) – digital services for education, enhancing connectivity, safety and digital inclusion in schools.
wi.move – smart management of municipal fleets and structural health monitoring of critical assets.
By leveraging 5G SA capabilities, edge intelligence and application-driven orchestration, WINGS positions 5G-BRIDGE as a business-oriented demonstration of how connectivity becomes a service, enabling scalable and replicable smart region solutions across Europe.
WINGS ICT Solutions will be the project manager of the project.
