WINGS ICT Solutions successfully delivered an end-to-end pilot for port surveillance, safety assurance, and logistics optimisation at the Port of Valencia.
Over 6 months, under the IMAGINE-B5G Open Call 3, WINGS validated a combined wi.supply & wi.move stack, showcasing how AI, robotics, and MEC-enabled 5G SA enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency in large-scale port environments.
WINGS showcased:
• Advanced threat detection & geofencing via wi.move’s AI analytics
• Worker-safety monitoring with real-time PPE detection
• Logistics optimisation from wi.supply (vehicle flow, parking/yard occupancy, routing insights)
• UGV/UAV robotic integration for autonomous patrolling and improved visibility
• Unified dashboards providing real-time alerts, metrics, and incident timelines
With >99% detection accuracy, <50 ms latency, and near-zero estimation errors, the PORTSAFE-B5G pilot improved safety, reduced response times, and supported decarbonisation through electric robotic patrols.
IMAGINE-B5G is a Horizon Europe / SNS JU initiative supporting large-scale 5G/B5G trials across Europe. The Spanish facility used for this pilot enabled WINGS ICT Solutions to deploy, validate, and benchmark its applications in real operational conditions, alongside 14 other selected Open Call projects.
Next steps for WINGS is to expand deployments across European ports/logistics hubs, scale coverage with higher sensor density and larger robotic fleets, and integrate our platform insights with existing Terminal Operating Systems.
