WINGS proudly announces its participation in six new projects (subject to the finalization of their grant agreements, currently ongoing), of the SNS JU (Smart Networks and Services – Joint Undertaking), which is part if the Horizon Europe (HEU) framework. The projects will develop and validate 6G (Beyond 5G) systems and services. 


WINGS, through 6G and its participation in the new SNS projects, will drastically enhance its solutions for verticals, firstly, by means of features like massive twinning, cooperative robots (cobots) at scale, XR. These will be enabled by technologies like flexible networks, joint communications and sensing, means to govern / manage AI mechanisms, and by putting sustainability, digital inclusion and trustworthiness at the center of attention.  


Through the Hexa-X II project, WINGS will develop, validate and showcase advanced applications for resilient, sustainable, trustworthy manufacturing. Through the TRIALSNET project, WINGS will develop and experiment with B5G/6G-powered applications in the areas of (a) mobility / transportation infrastructure management and (b) health and wellness. 


In the SEASON project, WINGS will enhance its orchestration and diagnostics platform, for exploiting the enhanced capabilities of 6G infrastructures including the co-optimization of the placement of vertical and ORAN functionality. For the ACROSS project, WINGS will work towards the development and validation of novel zero-touch service management functionality, capable of autonomously adapting to the infrastructure conditions and to the mix of services that need to be supported. Most importantly, through projects CONFIDENTIAL-6G and RIGOUROUS-6G, WINGS will deliver enhanced security management for protecting infrastructure systems and vertical applications. 


WINGS develops advanced solutions for verticals which gained traction: (1) AIRWINGS for air quality (outdoor / indoor, in production and manufacturing), civil and environment protection (fire protection); (2) ARTEMIS for the proactive management of utilities (energy, water, gas infrastructures); (3) WINGSPARK for advanced mobility services and for the management of transport infrastructures; (4) AQUAWINGS for sustainable and effective aquaculture; (5) AGNES for sustainable agriculture and food safety; (6) WINGSChariot for logistics and industry 4.0/5.0 applications; (7) STARLIT for health / wellness. Moreover, targeted applications for defense / security are soon to be announced.
