Delivering Smarter Water Infrastructure for the City of Patras

WINGS ICT Solutions successfully completed a major Smart City project for the Municipality of Patras in February 2026, enhancing the monitoring and management of the city’s stormwater drainage network.

Powered by wi.sense, WINGS’ intelligent IoT platform, the project included the supply, installation, configuration, and commissioning of a complete monitoring system for 80 stormwater diversion manholes across the municipal drainage network.

The solution features:
80 ultrasonic water level sensors installed inside the manholes
Secure and reliable LoRaWAN IoT connectivity for continuous real-time monitoring
Artificial Intelligence algorithms for the early detection of flood risks, overflow conditions, and potential pipe blockages
A powerful web-based monitoring and analytics platform providing real-time situational awareness, data visualization, historical analysis, and configurable alerts
Automated notifications via SMS and email, enabling municipal teams to respond proactively and optimize maintenance operations

The platform allows authorized users to configure alert recipients, assign responsibilities by geographic area, and tailor workflows to operational requirements, ensuring efficient management of critical infrastructure.

By combining IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and advanced data analytics, wi.sense helps municipalities improve public safety, increase infrastructure resilience, prevent environmental impacts, and support the sustainable management of urban water resources.

This project represents another important milestone in WINGS ICT Solutions’ commitment to delivering innovative Smart City technologies that make cities more resilient, sustainable, and data-driven.
