WINGS-WINGSPARK-Smart Management of Transportation / Crowd estimation and management in railway stations.
Our work on extending the WINGSPARK solution that aims at enhancing mobility and accessibility while promoting secure/safe and trustworthy transportation and navigation, continues. Mechanisms for managing railway stations in terms of:
•            Real time train-speed monitoring, through anomaly detection algorithms.
•            Advanced crowd estimation / management techniques as well as algorithms for detection of abnormal train-speed values,
are developed and trialed.
From the 4th to 6th of July we trialed our mechanisms in the Milano Garibaldi station in the context of the Safety4Rails project. Results on actual footage from “cctv cameras” in Milan’s and Rome’s infrastructure indicate Mean Relative Accuracies (MRA) of about 94% in crowd counting, in conjunction with the potential for full compliance with data management frameworks.
